by Morgan Harlow

looking for nails and

snakes on the driveway

charred scraps burnt

into the shapes of states

Minnesota, Wisconsin

never getting away

from the land of

smoke and snow.

Morgan Harlow's work has appeared in Blackbox Manifold, Ottawa Arts Review, Washington Square, The Moth, Seneca Review, and elsewhere and is forthcoming in Miramichi Flash and The Oakland Review.
