siren(s)

by Acadia W. Buro

thick swirls in the water

softer, and then gone

my nymph,

she wouldn’t look at me

her eyes –

could they see me?

clouds shrugged

in the water

she stayed there,

my face paralyzed too

sagging limbs,

stiff joints

was she smiling?

i wasn’t sure

sirens, and a red sea

drop

your

weapon
