clean

White light

shines on

polished plates.

Bulbs reflect

misshapen

on china.

We stack

clinking

porcelain

onto a shelf

where they

nestle hard

against smooth

flat coldness

impressions

of themselves.

Mark Burgh lives and teaches in Fort Smith, AR. His work has appeared in numerous journals both in the US and across the world.
