a small life

by Ophelia Monet

lie down and

look up

tell me,

do you

see the hands

of gods

as they cast

flames

across the

darkened sky?

I heard

they’re fighting

under the guise

of shooting stars

I heard

you’re dying

under the guise

of barely

living
