Robin Elise Hamilton

Robin Elise Hamilton (she/her) is a recently-septuagenarian, recently-out queer trans woman recently-retired after a half-century offstage in live performance who now concentrates on creating poetry in addition to odd little plays that more often than not center nonhuman performers.  Her work has been presented by Astroflakes, Boats Against the Current, Bullshit Lit, Crab Apple Lit, dadakuku, Dollar Store, Ghost Light Lit, Gnashing Teeth, Intangible, Nightingale & Sparrow, Three Panel Press, and others.  Her “Fate” received 1st Place in Ekphrastic Review’s “The Sound of Music” challenge, 2023. Hamilton, her wife, and the cats currently cope in North Carolina.

praise for Fishtailing Through the Intersection of Love and Risk

It’s not easy to tell an entire love story in a dozen lines. Yet Robin Elise Hamilton does it here, again and again. Testament to years spent honing a craft in theater, each of Robin’s poems are nuggets of story gold.

- Devra Thomas, Editor at North Carolina Literary Review

Take a few minutes of your time to read Robin Elise Hamilton’s new poetry book, Fishtailing Through the Intersection of Love and Risk. While I enjoyed the book, I did have one problem with it. When I finished reading it, it left me wanting to read more of Ms. Hamilton’s poetry. I will certainly look forward to reading more of her work in the future.

- Janet Sara Chandler, author of Poetry and Prose From A Transgender Soul

Robin Elise Hamilton’s poems shine with passion, humor, and humanity, attentive to the details that propel us toward the discovery of our true selves. A charming debut.

- Francesca Leader, author of Like Wine or Like Pain
